Scalp Aesthetic Studio

Lifestyle & Personal Decisions

Is SMP just an expensive temporary fix?

SMP is a long-lasting cosmetic tattoo, not a wash-off concealer or a treatment that stops alopecia. Pigment remains implanted even though its appearance may fade and maintenance needs vary. The studio uses 4–5 years as SMP refresh guidance, not a guaranteed duration or fixed maintenance requirement. Quick Density is separate, with 2–3-month guidance. Whether SMP is worthwhile depends on your goals and willingness to maintain the appearance; pricing is a private individual estimate after consultation.

What You Should Know

  • Long-lasting pigment and an unchanged cosmetic appearance are not the same promise.
  • SMP camouflage does not prevent continuing hair loss.
  • Studio SMP refresh guidance of 4–5 years is distinct from Quick Density and minor refinement.

When to Seek Professional Advice

Ask which service is being proposed and how future reassessment would relate to your changing hair. Consider maintenance alongside the initial cosmetic goal before requesting your private individual estimate.
