Scalp Micropigmentation for Hair Density
Scalp micropigmentation for hair density places small pigment impressions between existing hairs to reduce scalp-to-hair contrast at the crown and mid-scalp. It can make thinning areas look visually fuller, but it does not add hair or guarantee that the scalp will no longer be visible.

Reducing scalp-to-hair contrast
Density SMP shades exposed scalp toward the surrounding hair tone. Existing hair provides texture while pigment reduces the contrast beneath it. The visible effect depends on your hair coverage, thinning pattern, skin and lighting; no multiplier of fullness is promised.

Natural follicular recreation across the swirl, matched to the growth pattern so the spiral still reads correctly.
Mid-scalp show-through
Pigment is planned between existing hairs across the central scalp to reduce visible contrast, with coverage matched to the surrounding areas.
Full-scalp diffuse fill
For evenly distributed thinning, coverage is built across the whole top with a soft gradient toward the sides.
No shaving required
Density work is performed through existing hair at a length that still allows access to the scalp. Most clients keep their usual style throughout the series and return to normal life the same day.
Longevity & maintenance
The studio's SMP maintenance and refresh guidance is 4–5 years, not a guaranteed duration. Timing varies with skin, sun exposure and aftercare. Routine refreshes are separate from the existing complimentary minor refinement within twelve months of the final session.
Questions about hair density SMP
Does density SMP grow more hair?
No. Pigment between existing hairs reduces scalp-to-hair contrast to create the appearance of density. It does not increase hair count, thickness or growth.
Will my scalp become completely invisible?
No complete concealment is promised. Scalp visibility depends on existing hair, the thinning pattern, styling and lighting; consultation sets realistic coverage goals.
Is this the same as Quick Density?
Quick Density is a separate service, not regular density-enhancement SMP. Its maintenance and retouch guidance is 2–3 months; regular SMP refresh guidance is 4–5 years. These are planning intervals, not guaranteed individual results.
