Fading & Long-Term Results

What happens when my hair turns gray?

SMP pigment does not automatically change color when your natural hair turns gray. As hair becomes lighter, its contrast with the implanted pigment may change, but that does not mean every person will need an adjustment. The decision depends on the overall appearance, hairstyle, remaining hair, and your preferences. Long-term planning should acknowledge graying without promising a permanently perfect match. If the difference starts to bother you, arrange an individualized review rather than assuming that additional pigment is the answer.

What You Should Know

  • Natural hair and implanted pigment do not change color together.
  • A changed contrast is not automatically an unacceptable result.
  • Future reassessment should start with your preferred appearance, not an assumption that darker pigment is needed.

When to Seek Professional Advice

Tell the provider whether you expect to keep your natural gray hair, use hair color, or change your hairstyle so the consultation reflects the appearance you actually intend to maintain.
