Color & Natural Appearance

What if the dots become bigger or blurry?

SMP dots can appear blurred if pigment migrates beyond its intended placement, and excessively deep tattoo pigment placement is one possible contributor. However, an early change in appearance does not automatically mean permanent migration; healing needs separate assessment. Poorly defined or enlarged-looking impressions should be reviewed professionally before more pigment is added. Some unsatisfactory results may be improved, but correction depends on the specific problem and skin. It would be misleading to promise that every blurred or enlarged dot can be fixed.

What You Should Know

  • Apparent dot enlargement and confirmed pigment migration are not interchangeable descriptions.
  • Healing changes need to be distinguished from a persistent placement problem.
  • Revision studies describe selected difficult cases, not the failure rate of SMP generally.

When to Seek Professional Advice

Ask for an assessment of healed dot definition and the surrounding skin before accepting further pigment as a correction. Seek medical evaluation when the concern includes skin injury rather than appearance alone.
